accessible national parksLike many Americans, I grew up going on annual family camping trips. While my friends were traveling to cities by the beach and on cruises, I was in the wilderness somewhere playing in the dirt and climbing trees. These are some of my most cherished memories. Both my parents had a deep appreciation and respect for nature, something they instilled in all their children. My father was a ranger who had a dream to visit all the U.S. National Parks. His dream came to an end when he was killed in the car accident that also paralyzed me. I was 14. My family’s life changed forever.
