October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and before the month ends, I want to make a special request to women with disabilities. If you have not already done so, please get your regularly scheduled mammogram. I am a quadriplegic and a breast cancer survivor. During my regularly scheduled mammogram five years ago a small lump was discovered and I had a right mastectomy. I have been clear of cancer for five years now. So this is a personal plea to women with disabilities. BE PROACTIVE!
