Quantum Rehab has released a new power wheelchair seating system with powered forward tilt to improve independence and functionality around the home.

The new TRU-Balance 4 Power Positioning System offers a choice of 10, 20 or 30 degrees of anterior tilt, making it easier to access typically hard-to-reach areas like high cabinets or shelves. The TRU-Balance 4 comes standard with 10 degrees of anterior tilt and an optional knee-block assembly. For those with the function to utilize 20 or 30 degrees of anterior tilt, knee and chest bars are required additions for support and safety. The TRU-Balance 4 also features eight customizable seating positions and an adjustable foot platform with an articulation range of 0 inches to 7.25 inches and an elevation range of 85 degrees to 165 degrees.
“There is lots of excitement around our launch of TRU-Balance 4, especially power anterior tilt, because it can help users with functional activities,” said Jay Brislin, vice president of Quantum Rehab. “TRU-Balance 4 also offers eight customizable memory seating positions, whereas other manufacturers have preset positions. This makes TRU-Balance 4 seating truly customizable to serve people with a variety of needs.”
The TRU-Balance 4 Power Positioning System is available as an option on the Edge 3 Stretto, Edge 3, and 4Front 2 power wheelchairs. Before options and required additions, the TRU-Balance 4 system costs $12,790 in addition to the base wheelchair price, although costs can vary according to individual needs, insurance, and anterior tilt option selected. The basic price of the TRU-Balance 4 system offers 10 degrees of anterior tilt, while the 20-degree anterior tilt option costs an additional $1,995 and the 30-degree anterior tilt option adds $2,595.
