The StarLock cushion is a vertical air-cell cushion designed for pressure reduction, stability and postural support. The StarLock uses individual air cells that can function both together and independently to meet your pressure reduction and postural needs. You adjust the air cells with an attached hand pump and a separate release valve.
With the StarLock, you can set and lock individual air cells by sitting on the cushion with a foam insert covering the air cells to be customized. To lock the cells under the tailbone, for example, position the foam insert over the intended cells and sit on the cushion. While seated, inflate the air cells using the attached hand pump — your weight and the pressure from the foam insert prevents the cells beneath the tailbone from inflating. To lock the cells, close the air valve and remove the foam insert, creating your own pressure-free zone.
The StarLock is available in various sizes and models with 3-, 4- or 5-inch air cells. For more information, visit the Ki Mobility website.

National Seating and Mobility gave me a trial with this cushion. It is awful. Parts don’t pump up at all, and there’s no way to reset it, so you end up sitting on steel and causing even more pressure sores. I mean ROHO is garbage, even delivered with holes in it, but this cushion ACTIVELY causes pressure sores!
The worst!
Actually had a great two weeks with the item then found out real quick how easy it is for the cells to rip or tear.
Idea is there. I’m still waiting for a better execution (got the seat about 4 months ago and used effectively for about 2 weeks).
This is basically the same as the roho cushion.
I had an alternating air pressure cushion used on airplanes and it was great but the company Ease cushion no longer makes them. It wasn’t high-profile like a wheelchair cushion so I wasn’t too high with my knees hitting the next seat. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks Lynn
