Corima Combines Wheelchair Wheel and Handrim in One Sleek, Carbon-Fiber Package

Best known for its carbon-fiber sport and handcycle wheels, Corima has released its first everyday wheelchair wheel.
The Corima Allure is a new 24-inch carbon-fiber wheel with a 4-spoke design and an integrated ergonomic carbon handrim. The wheel-and-handrim combo is designed for improved energy transfer to aid push-efficiency and responsiveness. The Allure weighs 2 pounds per wheel, including handrims — as light as anything else on the market — making it easier to push or to lift into and out of your car. For comparison, Spinergy’s carbon wheel, the CX, weighs about the same with a basic aluminum handrim, and more if you choose an ergonomic handrim.
Jacob Sharff, a para and the owner of How iRoll Sports, is selling the Allure in the U.S. and has used the new wheels. “(They) are noticeably lighter than most options currently on the market,” he says. “They come standard with Corima’s signature carbon-fiber 4-spoke design and fully carbon-fiber handrims, which add to the lightweight feel and smooth look.”
The Corima Allure wheels are available from Corima’s network of partners for a retail price of about $2,132 per pair. The Allure can also be purchased directly from How iRoll Sports for $2,016 per pair. For more information, visit Corima.

Would welcome a 26” option
Love that they would be so easy to keep clean. Not lime trying to clean around all those individual spokes.
I wonder if there are any future plans for 25” and 26” wheels???
I love how these manufactures are so trying to help the wheelchair community by gouging the hell out of us. $2000 + for wheels is more then the price of my TiLite chair. I understand they need to recuperate their design costs, but get real. What insurance is going to cover that? Most of us are on limited income and can’t afford luxury items like this. However, if you can get rich off of the diasbaled community, more power to you. 🙁
