Alber e-fix Eco Converts Your Manual Wheelchair Into a Power Chair
March 11, 2022
Michael FranzThe Alber e-fix Eco is an add-on electric drive system that transforms a manual chair into a power chair. The drive system comprises a joystick, battery pack and in-wheel motors. The unit offers a top speed of 3.75 mph and a maximum range of 10 miles per charge.
The Alber e-fix Eco comes with many upgrades over its predecessor, the e-fix, including a quieter motor, a newly designed control unit, an improved battery bag and new colors on the wheels and battery. The e-fix Eco also has more joystick options, an adaptable control unit to allow for attendant control and energy recovery braking technology that transfers energy from the motor to the battery resulting in longer battery life.
“Driven by our culture of innovation, we continue to expand our industry-leading comprehensive portfolio of power assist devices,” said Invacare’s manual wheelchair and seating director, Michael Salvi. “We are excited to showcase the e-fix Eco’s improvements as we continue helping end-users in making life’s experiences possible.”
The Alber e-fix Eco is compatible with rigid and folding manual wheelchairs and comes in 22- and 24-inch wheel sizes. It supports a max user weight of 265 pounds. Medicaid and private insurers cover the e-fix Eco. For more information, visit the Alber e-fix Eco website.
