CushPocket is a Quality Wheelchair Bag at an Affordable Price

Closeup of front of manual wheelchair with black bag hanging below black cushion. Bag has a zipper and "CushPocket" in white lettering on front flap.

The CushPocket Wheelchair Bag was designed by Jason Leuck, a T2-4 paraplegic, who wanted a better way to carry items for himself and his wife, who also has a spinal cord injury. He introduced his first bag in 2019 and recently released a larger version made with higher-quality fabric.

The CushPocket offers two compartments: an outer pocket that closes with a magnetic flap, and a larger main compartment featuring a zipper closure with an updated O-ring loop. The CushPocket is attached to a flexible board that slides underneath the seat cushion, and can be attached to the seat pan of most manual or power wheelchairs with Velcro strips that are included. When detached from the chair, the board is designed with a hand-sized slot to double as a carrying handle.

“As a wheelchair user myself, I understand the challenges faced in accessing essential items, and my firsthand experience helped create a product that effectively addresses those needs,” says Leuck.

NM editor Seth McBride recently purchased a CushPocket bag for his TiLite TR manual wheelchair, and says the price point is what sold him. “I needed a new underchair bag, and $40 is hard to beat for anything that will hold up,” he says. “It was way easier to attach than other bags I’ve had — just peel off the Velcro backing and stick the board on your seat pan. I can fit my daily essentials — wallet, phone, catheter and bag of Skittles — and the zipper is easy to operate. So far, I’m happy with it.”

The CushPocket can be used on most manual and power wheelchairs with removable cushions. It’s available directly from CushPocket ($40 plus shipping) and online retailers including Amazon ($46.99).

Could you tell Jason, the maker of this nice looking bag, that I tried to find him on FaceBook as he suggested on his YouTube channel, but I cannot find him and comments cannot be left to let him know. Could you tell me what his page is or get him this message?
Thank you!

I bought one, and I like it! I’ve been using a fanny pack under my chair for years, but I have to wrap it around the frame, and it was hard to access while seated. The CushPocket sits right behind the back of my legs and is roomy enough for my catheters and even my phone! I take my wheelchair apart to fit it in my car, so it sits at an angle in the back seat. I’d love a smaller inside zipper pouch to store my coins and spare valve stem adapters so they don’t fall out.
