JAY LitePro Cushion Offers Lightweight Stability

JAY’s LitePro cushion combines closed-cell foam and a elastomer insert to offer both stability and pressure relief.

Sunrise Medical has released a new lightweight cushion, the JAY LitePro. It’s a slim cushion designed to offer both stability and high-level skin protection for active users.

The LitePro combines a contoured, closed-cell foam base that supports the thighs and outer hips with a latticed elastomer — think fancy, breathable rubber — insert that redistributes pressure away from high-risk areas like the coccyx and trochanters. The cushion can be adjusted by inserting or removing “pressure adjustment pods” on the underside, allowing for mild postural correction.

Sunrise says the elastomer insert allows for better airflow and keeps users cooler and drier than traditional air cushions.  The LitePro is just 2-inches tall and weighs less than 2 lbs.

“At Sunrise Medical, we understand that for active riders, every gram and every millimeter matter,” said Bernd Krebs, chief technology officer at Sunrise Medical. “The JAY LitePro was engineered to remove compromise and deliver high-level skin protection and stability in one of the lightest, lowest cushions available today.”

The LitePro is available in sizes from 14-by-14 inches to 20-by-20 inches. It retails for $525 and is covered by most insurances. It’s available from most online retailers, as low as $271. For more information, visit Sunrise Medical’s website
