Summer is almost over, and for many that also means the end of grilling season is nigh. There’s just something about grilling hot dogs and hamburgers in the cold that doesn’t seem quite right. But grill-enthusiasts who don’t mind chilly weather and who also have deep pockets will want to check out the new ADA Grill from Lynx Grills.
Lynx is the Cadillac of the high-end grill market and, aside from a not-so-creative name, the ADA Grill is the wheelchair-using griller’s dream come true. With a 32 inch cooking surface (as opposed to the normal 36 inches), an elevated bottom that can fit your casters, a side lid handle and a hood assist that will keep you from stretching out of your chair to push the hood back, Lynx has addressed many of the issues wheelchair grillers have had. The PR rep informed me the design changes were the direct result of consulting with wheelchair users. All of those changes augment Lynx’s standard handsome steel design and refined cooking technology.
Apparently, the ADA Grill has been on the market since the first quarter of this year, but is just now being pushed out to the public, backed by a marketing campaign. The only downside to the ADA Grill is the price tag. Starting at over $3,200 (based on my internet sleuthing), the ADA Grill is likely out of most readers’ budgets. But, hey, if you’ve got cash laying around, win the lottery, or really, really love to grill — the ADA Grill could be the steel trophy you’ve been looking for.
