Motion Composites Releases Redesigned NXT Cushions and Backrests

Motion Composites and Dynamic Health Care Solutions have announced redesigned versions of their NXT cushions and backrests.

The NXT line of cushions includes two models, the NXT BioFit and NXT NuFit. The BioFit cushion was designed for those with a medium to high risk of skin breakdown. This multi-layered foam cushion is infused with smartGEL technology to help dissipate heat and enhance comfort and skin protection. The NXT NuFit is a lighter, multi-layered foam cushion for wheelchair users with a low to medium risk of skin breakdown. Both cushions are contoured to support and position the sacrum, pelvis and femurs, and both utilize a breathable and moisture-wicking “smartx3D” antimicrobial cover.

With nine unique models, NXT backrests offer a wide range of adjustability in height and depth in a sleek and relatively lightweight package. The NXT Xtend is height adjustable from 16-to-20 inches, while the Xtend Low ranges from 13-to-17 inches. Both models weigh around 4 pounds and have a contour depth of 3.5 inches. For those who need extra lateral support, a deep contour option is available with an adjustable depth of 5.5-to-7 inches.

For maximum adjustability, the NXT Optima backrest is available in several heights from 9-to-19 inches and is adjustable in 1-inch increments. The Optima Carbon features the same adjustability as the Optima but in an ultralightweight carbon shell that weighs less than 2 pounds. Both models of the Optima are available with deep contour.

NXT products are available through Motion Composites and Dynamic Health Care Solutions, online retailers and DME providers. Retail prices for the BioFit cushion start at $425, and the NuFit starts at $395. The Xtend, Xtend Low and Optima backrest start at $660, while the Optima Carbon retails for $870 and up.
