Adaptive clothing brand IZ Adaptive has long been known for modern, fashionable and functional clothing, but also for prices beyond the budget of many consumers. Yesterday, the founder announced that bestselling items that had been priced between $80-$126 are being reduced to roughly $60-$70.

Longtime New Mobility editor Barry Corbet published Options, a guide to thriving with spinal cord injury based on Corbet’s own experience and interviews with dozens of SCI survivors across the country. “I want you to share this experience so that you will not have to muck about in the wilderness for years, as I did, to acquire it by yourself,” Corbet writes in the preface. But as her life outgrows her current wheelchair’s capabilities, she’s frustrated to encounter a medical system with little care for her needs outside of her home or doctor’s offices.

“Over my 21 years of living with quadriplegia, I have independently cared for my personal needs with minor help from my husband,” writes Lilly Longshore. “I know this will not last forever. We are both aging. I will need more help in the future. And I will have to pay for it myself.” Could moving to Panama be a comfortable and affordable answer?
